The 164 km long pilgrimage route leads you along sacred sites through the Polish part of Lower Silesia.

The hiking route is 164 km long with an elevation difference of +3722 m and -3466 m. It starts in Zgorzelec and ends in Kamienna Góra. The route mainly follows field paths and trails and focuses on closeness to nature and as short routes as possible. Almost the entire stretch is a combination of various hiking trails, which are generally well marked, which is very helpful in some places.

Directions

The hike starts at the Old Town Bridge in Zgorzelec and initially leads you along streets and park paths on the bank of the Lusatian Neisse. After a small bridge, you reach a section along the river, through the village of Koźlice and on a cycle path to Radomierzyce. Then it goes over the road to the dam in Niedów, where you can enjoy wide panoramas. From Wilka station, you follow the green hiking trail of the PTTK.

From Zawidów, you hike on the yellow PTTK hiking trail through agricultural areas that offer beautiful panoramas. In the village of Grabiszyce Średnie, an interesting castle awaits you. The highest point of this section is reached at kilometer 38 before the path leads down to Leśna.

Next is the crossing of the Kwisa, and you hike along the bank of the Bóbr. In Leśna, you get onto a road that leads over the Leśniański dam. The path becomes impressive as you walk through the tunnel to the dam and the rocky path along the slope. After crossing a bridge, you see the town hall of Gryfów.

The section from Gryfów to Lubomierz is quieter and ideal for relaxation. Here you hike through agricultural areas and can admire Wolności Square in Lubomierz. The route continues along yellow markings, through a mix of asphalt roads and field paths until you reach the Wojciechowski forest, where the path becomes a little more adventurous. The picturesque “Wild Gorge” awaits you and leads to the hydroelectric power station at the Pilchowice dam before you climb to the crown of the dam.

You continue your way along the blue PTTK markings which lead you through the hilly terrain by the Pilchowickie lake. Here you cross a bridge and follow the Bóbr to Jelenia Góra to the Church of Grace.

The section from Jelenia Góra to Karpacz connects two main attractions. From Kościuszko Hill, you reach the yellow hiking trail, past Witosz mountain and Henryk castle. Finally, you arrive at the Wang temple in Karpacz.

After a long descent through the outskirts of Karpacz, you follow the path through the Piszczaka gorge to the Kowarski pass. Here begins a scenic section that leads you through alpine landscapes. The green PTTK hiking trail takes you through the Krucze mountains and finally to Kamienna Góra, where you finish the hike at the train station.

The return trip to Görlitz can be conveniently organized by public transport, preferably via the hub Węgliniec, from which trains run direct to Görlitz.
