The 61 km long first section of the mountain bike pilgrimage route leads you from Zgorzelec to Gryfów Slaski.

Special highlights on this section are the Niedów dam and the panoramas from the Słowiańskie Hill. The Czocha castle is also particularly worth seeing and offers a nice overnight stay on this section. A visit to Rajsko Castle is also worthwhile (advance registration is required).

Directions

The route starts in Zgorzelec at the Old Town Bridge. At first, you ride for a short time along the Lusatian Neisse on paved concrete slabs and a park-like gravel path. Then it goes over a short, bumpy section along the riverbank before you switch to a smooth asphalt bike path that stretches almost 10 km along the Neisse. This part of the first section offers a relaxed ride with a beautiful river backdrop. Next, you reach the Niedów dam, followed by wide panoramas from the Slavic Hill, the first easy ascent. Most of this route is open and offers little shelter.

From Zawidów you quickly come to the rural area. Here, gravel and unpaved roads await you, offering beautiful panoramic views and extending over the first 12 km. As soon as you reach Grabiszyce Średnie, an asphalt road begins with slight ascents.

The last part of the section from Leśna to Gryfów brings you onto a real mountain bike trail. You cross the Kwisa and ride along the northern shore, overcoming a short ascent. A short stop to enjoy the landscape is worthwhile at the Orlische rocks before you follow a typical MTB path passing the Sztolnie nature reserve in Leśna. After a short detour to the Leśna dam, you turn north and follow a beautiful path along the lake shore. Then continue through Bożkowice, where a visit to Rajsko Castle is worthwhile (advance registration is required). The path then leads through fields to a trail along the Złotnickie lake. This narrow, idyllic path runs partly steeply over the water and offers small obstacles for a varied ride.
