Sharp rocks and rounded sandstone - welcome to the Zittau Mountains Nature Park! Zittau has a lot to offer with its diverse historical buildings!
This stage is about 15 km long.

The old town of Zittau invites you to linger. To get to Oybin, leave the city heading south. The path leads straight ahead, partly through a magnificent poplar avenue, towards the mountains. The first highlight is the Töpfer. Suddenly the landscape is transformed. Bizarre rocks, gnarled paths, magnificent views. The Scharfenstein, with its steep ascent and panoramic view, is a special attraction. The rock passage and the beautifully rounded Kelchstein amaze the hiker. The Oybin monastery ruins combine nature and culture perfectly. At the foot of and along the ascent to the Oybin castle and monastery, there is another gem, the Baroque mountain church (wedding church).

Little tip: Use the Zittau narrow-gauge railway as a tourist must to avoid the tough paths around Zittau!
