Via Sacra Cycling Pilgrimage Route on the Polish side Section 3 Jelenia Góra - Chełmsko Śląskie
Special highlights on this section are the Wang Church and the Krzeszów/Grüssau Monastery.
Directions
From the Church of Grace in Jelenia Góra, a scenic section awaits you towards Karpacz Wang. Here you will always have beautiful views of the main attractions of the route. Despite urbanization, the path is designed attractively in terms of landscape. In total, you will overcome over 500 meters of elevation, with the climb becoming more challenging towards the end. The last 2-3 km are particularly steep, with gradients of up to 10%.
From Karpacz Wang, the route continues to the Kowarska Pass. You start with a longer downhill and then follow the busy road 366 to Kowary. In Kowary, a beautiful promenade and an impressive stone railway viaduct await you. Then the climb to Kowarska Pass begins, with slopes of up to 12%.
The last section leads from Kowarska Pass to Chełmsko Śląskie. You start with a 15 km long descent to Kamienna Góra. To avoid monotonous sections, you turn onto quieter side roads. In Kamienna Góra, you switch to a bike path along a former railway line. Continuing on to the monastery in Krzeszów, where a longer visit is recommended. Finally, you continue your ride either to Chełmsko Śląskie or return to Kamienna Góra.
