Via Sacra - from Görlitz to Hagenwerder
We say goodbye to the impressive urban jewel Görlitz. From the station or the city center, it goes down to the Neisse. Beforehand, after all the sacred highlights, we can enjoy a slightly different pleasure, the sacredness of beer, the Landskron Brewery. A worthwhile visit.
The path to Landeskrone first leads shaded along the Neisse and then on hidden and bush paths, always well marked and surprisingly pleasant towards the mountain. The valley, the Feldmühlgraben with impressive trees, creates a mental break. A short stretch through the suburb, then steeply up to the landmark. Down through beautiful mixed deciduous forest and then straight ahead to Pfaffendorf and onto Kreuzberg. There the rare Turk's cap lilies bloom. Over a cherry avenue and then lonely forest paths of the former spoil heap of the brown coal open cast mine we come to the hidden tower on Neuberzdorfer Höhe. It offers a stunning panoramic view. Constantly gently downhill over a wide track we reach Berzdorfer See, to the Blaue Lagune beach. That invites to swim and promises a pleasant cooling off. Along the lake we walk into the sleepy Hagenwerder.
