Cycling pilgrimage route Via Sacra on the Polish side section 2 Gryfów Slaski - Jelenia Góra
Special highlights on this section are the Pilchowice Dam, the Bober Dam, and the Church of Grace in Jelenia Góra.
Directions
Starting from Gryfów Śląski, you begin on the busy DW364 and initially follow it for a short distance before turning onto a quieter road in Ubocze. This section takes you on a somewhat poorly maintained road, and Lubomierz is largely bypassed, so you only pass the town on the edge.
From Lubomierz, continue to the Pilchowice Dam. Here, you cycle on good asphalt through small villages such as Wojciechów and Maciejowiec. A fast descent awaits you to the Bober bridge, followed by an ascent up to the dam. From here, you have a great view of the hydroelectric power station from the lower water side.
In the final section from the Pilchowice Dam to the Church of Grace in Jelenia Góra, you will find a varied route. You start with a short cobblestone section and pass sights such as the famous undemolished bridge, the knight's tower in Siedlęcin, and the Perła Zachodu. The path here becomes a narrow hiking and cycling trail, partly paved with cobblestones. Finally, you reach Jelenia Góra and ride along the Młynówka canal to the Church of Grace, the destination of this section.
